It was our families turn to organize this years end of summer party. We picked the theme "Christmas in September". It was a great hit and a wonderful party theme for multi generations. Costume parade, prizes and talent show. Nothing like dancing to Christmas Carols in 80 degree weather. 'Twas a night to remember...

I was surfing on Neiman Marcus, checking to see if our stationery had been uploaded yet and somehow I stumbled upon the jewelry section. Surprise, surprise! This ring is stunningly beautiful! I love the combination of eggplant, sky blue and sea foam green. Great inspiration for a fabulous holiday illustration I am in the process of colouring for the Holt Renfrew boxed holiday cards which will be available this coming season in all nine of their stores.

Why is it that we have to get sick or die for people to write and say the nicest things about us? Condolence letters and Eulogy's are the greatest tribute to mankind and yet the person is not there to hear their glowing accolades? Did no one get the memo that the App to Skype heaven is still not available!?

The problem is, people are uncomfortable expressing their feelings. Then it is too late and they have regret for not telling the people they care about what they were thinking all along. I have decided to do something about this and hope to create a trickle effect along the way.

If you know me and have touched my heart in some way, whether it be personally, professionally, through my children, my husband, my family and have made a positive impact on me/our life in some way, I am going to write to you. When you receive my letter, I hope I make you cry. Warm, salty tears of emotion that we all keep bottled up inside because we are just too darn busy to "go there". I hope to make you melt, just for a minute or two, and then spread a warm, fuzzy undescribable feeling all over you. Along with the card I send you will be a blank card and envelope. With this card, I want you to do the same and send it to someone special. And hopefully, they too will get the same reaction and then do the same.

I hope you put your card on the mantle or in a drawer, tucked away somewhere special to pull out and re-read on a dreary day when you need reminding how special you are and how you touched someone else's life. This is what communicating is. Sharing thoughts, feeling and emotions. Be brave, be honest. It will come back to you in spades. Because when you're dead, I'm not convinced you can hear me until we meet again in heaven.

What an amazing time we had in South Beach. We've all watched CSI on television and believe me, it is actually like that and then some! Fabulous people, food, weather, energy... Can't wait to go back. Our trunk show at The Scarlett Letter was a great night had by all. And to top it off, our Sassy Greeting cards are now available on Worth Avenue at Sherry Frankel's Melangerie in Palm Beach. Loved, loved, loved Palm Beach.

My good friend Andrea Lockhart and myself have just returned from a wild 72 hour Stationery/Jewelry Show Extravaganze at the Park Hyatt in downtown Toronto. Hello Magazine, Wedding Bells, Vitamin T, CTV News anchors and many other lovely ladies that we met over the course of the sale were all a pleasure to meet. Running into familiar faces, old aquaitances as well as making new friends made the trip complete. A great time was had my all and we will definitly be going back, sooner than later!

I have just returned from my annual May trip to New York to attend the National Stationery Show. As usual, I am completely inspired upon my return and just want to draw and create all new things. I have enclosed some images of new products which will be arriving over the next few months. Personalized candles, soap and towlettes are among my favorites. The scents of them are amazing, you'll want to order them all.

MEDIA TRAINING

Yesterday, I experienced my first ever Media Training at Oh Boy Productions (www.ohboy.ca). Stu McNish was fabulous, inspiring us to fine tune the real focus we want to convey to the media about our businesses. My first take in front of the camera was attrocious. The second, I'm sorry to say, was not much better. Doing live interviews is a lot harder than it looks! We were all sent home to practice, practice, practice and are to return in four weeks to be re-shot. I look forward to sharing my video clip with you once it is up to snuff!
